Rachid Aliziane, DVM

Dr. Aliziane received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from National Veterinary School of Algiers (Algiers, Algeria) in 1998. He had his own private practice where he treated small animals, large animals and poultry. In 2003, Dr. Aliziane moved to France to pursue clinical and epidemiologic research from the University of Medicine (Kremlin Bicetre, France). In 2019, Dr. Aliziane completed the AMA/ECFVG program to practice veterinary medicine in the United States. While completing this program, he worked as a technician in Florida, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Massachusetts (at Malden Animal Hospital!). Dr. Aliziane practiced as a general practitioner in New Jersey before relocating to Massachusetts. He rejoined Malden Animal Hospital in 2020.

D. Aliziane is fluent in 4 languages! He can speak English, French, Berber and Arabic. In his spare time, he likes to travel with his family, and watch and read history stories. Dr. Aliziane has a hidden talent - he is an expert at making baguettes.


Nako Shinohara, DVM, CVA

Dr. Shinohara grew up in Michigan and moved to Massachusetts for school. She attended the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 2000, and then received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Tufts School ofVeterinary Medicine in 2004. This was followed by a small animal internship at Angell-Westem New England. D.r Shinohara completed specialized training with the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society and became certified in veterinary acupuncture in 2012. Prior to joining Malden Animal Hospital, Dr. Shinohara worked at a primary, emergency, and specialty referral hospital for 17 years. She joined Malden Animal Hospital in 2022.

Jillian Carter (manager, head technician)

Jill has been with Malden Animal Hospital since high school (many, many years ago!). Shewas born and raised in Medford, and she has always loved animals. Jill started working as a kennel help during high school, and through years of hard work and dedication, she became head technician, and then to manager of the hospital. Over the years, Jil worked at various other hospitals but always returned to Malden. Everyone loves Jill's outgoing personality and attention to detail. Malden would not be the same without her!
